Bridal Shower Invites

I have been commissioned by my boyfriend’s mother to make bridal shower invites for her niece. I’ll be making 20 of them. She bought all the stuff and even came up with the design! It was such a cute idea! She should make cards ;)

Here it is, the first one. The green cloth wire is hard to cut but it was totally worth it!

The inside:

19 more to go!

Happy Mother’s Day

I ended up adding a white dash border to this but didn’t take another photo. For my mom!

Corner punches are the bane of my existence

Below I have illustrated my feelings about the 3 punches I own.

I have owned the blue Uchida since the beginning. Then I bought the oh so popular Corner Chomper (from We R Memory Keepers). Then the Martha Stewart white one because the Corner Chomper let me down.

Marvy Uchida
Now, I LOVE my blue Uchida corner puncher – but I prefer having 2 size options. Also, it’s just so painful to punch through anything thicker than 80# cardstock. The ridges dig into my thumb and punching while it’s on the table isn’t any easier. So I needed a handle/lever/pulley system.

We R Memory Keepers
Hence the corner chomper. Now, I’m HOPING that it’s just not sharp, because I used one in the local Paper Zone, and it worked fine. :( Just can’t really return it cause I bought through Amazon and threw everything else away…

Martha Stewart
The Martha Stewart punch puts a weird 3-hole-punch sized impression onto the card after I punch the corner off. DISLIKE.

Boo. :(

Let the paper do the work

I thought about the layout (added pink on the left side) but the paper really did the rest for me, so I added gems to the crown and that was really it (aside from stamping thank you).

Saturday Picture inspiration, a CASE, and a simple but classy card!

I will start with my Saturday picture inspiration, with a photo I found on Pinterest:

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The next one is a case of the beautiful Kristina Werner’s Make a Card Monday card seen here.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The next card I just put together without thinking and it was simple but it looked so classy I loved it!

Thanks for stopping by!

More congrats – a CASE!

I am by no means creative so I must steal ideas…

Here I am CASEing Kristina Werner’s “Flowers” card. See her blog entry here.

Gallery Idol 2011 from Paper Crafts

Paper Crafts magazine is having a contest called Gallery Idol. It’s for “Congratulations” cards. You can enter as many as you want but only 1 will get you into the contest. They take all of the entries and bring it down to 20, then 15, then 10, then 5, then 1! :)

If you have a flickr account, log in and view the gallery HERE!

A couple nights ago, my friend Katie came over and we made some cards. I really liked this one (I have contributed about 5 total to the contest so far).

CASEing a case!

I have no idea what CASEing means in the cardmaking/scrapbooking world, but I sure hope it doesn’t stand for “Copying and stealing exactly” cause that’s pretty much what I did.

So over at Lin’s blog, she CASED a card, and I cased THAT card. So…it’s all about passing on the creativity!

Take a look at that and check out my take on it. Thanks! :)
